Heb. 12:1-2 “Running the Race”
In Heb. 12:1-2, I see three priorities for living the Christian life. Yesterday we talked about repentance, laying aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us. Today we are considering surrender, running the race that is set before us. God has a purpose for each and every one of His children. Our responsibility is to surrender to His will and run the race that He has for us. Just as in sports, running the race in the Christian life is not easy. Therefore we need to run with endurance, to keep on keeping on. The reason that we keep on running the race set before us is that we have confidence in God, we believe He knows what He is doing. Meditate on Heb. 12:1-2 today and run well, surrendered to God’s will. Have a great day!
12:1-2 “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
