Mt. 5:16 “Let Your Light Shine”
You and I can glorify God today! In Eph. 3:20-21, Paul encourages us to dream big, to depend on God, to do what it takes, and to do all to the glory of God. In Mt. 5:16 Jesus says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” How do we do that?
We walk in the light … focusing on our relationship with Jesus (1 Jn.
1:5-7). “Let your light so shine before men.”
We reflect His light … because a close relationship with Jesus changes us.
We do good works … which is what God has planned for us. “That they may see your good works.” After talking about being saved by faith, in Eph. 2:10 Paul says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
We glorify God … which is a primary purpose as Christians. “And glorify your father in heaven.” In Jn. 15:8, Jesus stresses the importance of our relationship with Him and then goes on to say, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” You and I can glorify God today!
