Gen. 50:20 “God Meant It for Good”
All of us face difficulties at times. Circumstances can be hard. And sometimes other people are the cause of our difficult circumstances. But God promises to work things together for good (Rom. 8:28).
Jesus went through the most difficult circumstances imaginable. Even before dying on the cross, He was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, denied by Peter, and falsely accused and abused by the chief priests and Pharisees. And yet the same verse that applied to Joseph in Gen. 50:20 applied to Jesus as well. People meant evil against Him, “but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” Through Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection, many have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ. We should be thankful!
