1 Jn. 2:3-5 “Evidence of Salvation”
According to 1 Tim. 3:15-17, all scripture is inspired by God, profitable, and life transforming, and it is able to make us “wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” If we have the Son, we can know that we have eternal life (1 Jn. 5:11-13). But if we genuinely know Jesus Christ, it will make a difference in our lives.
The Apostle John said this in 1 Jn. 2:3-5. “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him.
By this we know that we are in Him.” This is not talking about sinless perfection, but I believe it is talking about consistent Christian living. The longer we know Jesus, the more like Jesus we should become
(1 Jn. 2:6).
I invite you to share this so that more people can hear the Word of God.
And I invite you to join us in worship at Catawba Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC tomorrow at 10:30 am, either in person or online. Have a great day!
