Thoughts
-
Yesterday we looked at Isaiah 6 briefly. Isaiah encountered God, experienced His forgiveness, and then accepted God’s call to share His message. Let’s look at little deeper. Isaiah experienced God in all of His holiness. The seraphim cried out, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” When Isaiah saw God in a new way, he realized his sinfulness, his inadequacy. He realized his need for forgiveness.

When we compare ourselves to others, we might feel like we are doing pretty good. When we compare ourselves to God, to Jesus, we recognize that we fall far short of the standard and we need forgiveness, we need to change. The good news is that, because the blood of Jesus Christ God’s Son cleanses us from all sin, when we confess our sins He will forgive (1 John 1:7-10). When we are forgiven, then we can be used by God to accomplish His purpose, vessels “for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.” (2 Timothy 2:21)
-
God wants to use each one of His children to accomplish His purpose. To be used by God, we need to realize our sins, confess, and repent. We can then be forgiven and cleansed and used for His glory.
