Thoughts
-
Not only does scripture make us wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, but also it is inspired and profitable. God spoke His word through men to produce an amazing book, the Bible, which has made an unbelievable impact on so many down through the centuries. Through it we learn doctrine, we are told what we do wrong, we are told how to do right, and we are instructed in righteousness so that we can be mature and complete and ready to do good works (2 Timothy 3:14-17).
-
It is natural to be changed, to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, as we spend time reading the principles found in God’s word. So many things that men teach today were first introduced in the Bible, and meditation on such things makes a difference in our lives.
-
The Bible is also supernatural, however. It is called the sword of the Spirit in Ephesians 6:17. God uses it to challenge us, to change us, to use us. God’s word is living and powerful (Hebrews 4:12). One of our main priorities should be to learn God’s word!
Action Items
