Thoughts
-
I preached on one of my favorite subjects yesterday, the word of God. I am grateful to have grown up in a family that valued the Bible. I appreciate my Sunday School teachers challenging me to memorize scripture as early as the first grade and maybe before. God’s word has made a big difference in my life, and it can make a tremendous difference in yours as well.
-
Years ago I memorized Psalm 1, which contrasts the blessed man and the ungodly man. The blessed man is happy, fortunate, and to be envied because he delights in the law of the Lord and meditates in it day and night. The results are amazing. He is like a tree planted by the rivers of water (stability), that brings forth its fruit in its season (fruitfulness). whose leaf also shall not wither (endurance); and whatever he does shall prosper (prosperity).
-
Is your life characterized by stability, fruitfulness, endurance, and prosperity? If not, try delighting in God’s word and meditating in it day and night.
