Thoughts
-
Sunday morning I mentioned MOP as I talked about the importance of learning God’s word. Joshua is nervous about the challenge of leading as many as 1.5 million Israelites into the Promised Land. They are on the wrong side of the Jordan River and Moses, a great leader, had just died. God promises Joshua that he will be victorious and then exhorts him to focus on His word.
-
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” In Joshua 1:8, God tells Joshua that He wants him to meditate, obey, and prosper. Thinking deeply about scripture day and night is a spiritual discipline that makes a significant difference in one’s life. Making sure that we obey it completely, observing to do all that it written in it, shows that we love God. The result is that we will prosper and be successful.
-
If we believe what God says, we will do what God says. We will prosper as we meditate and obey. Do not forget MOP.
