3/12/25 Matthew 4:18-20 “Deciding to Follow Jesus”
Andrew and Peter had been introduced to Jesus, Andrew by John the Baptist and Peter by his brother Andrew (John 1:35-42). They had both spent time with Jesus. They both heard Him preach. Neither Andrew nor Peter knew what was going to happen next.
Jesus saw the two brothers casting a net into the Sea of Galilee. Andrew and Peter were fishermen, but Jesus had other plans for them. He said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Undoubtedly, they had no clue how much their lives were going to change, but “they immediately left their nets and followed Him.” Deciding to follow Jesus made all the difference in the world!
During the next forty days, between now and Easter, we are going to consider what it means to follow Jesus and fish for men. And hopefully, as we decide to follow Jesus, it is going to make all the difference in the world, for us and for those around us. Please read the scripture at the top and then read the devotional to get the most benefit.
