I wonder if Andrew witnessed that evening conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus recorded in John 3. Jesus talked about being born again. Because we are dead in our trespasses and sins, as stated in Ephesians 2:1, we need to be born again spiritually in order to experience true life. We are born again as we recognize and turn from our sin and rely on Jesus to save us. Because He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, Jesus can give us eternal life when we believe in Him.
