4/6/25 John 14:15 “Keeping His Commandments”

Just as God had compassion on us when He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, so we should have compassion on people around us. And our responsibility is to Show People Love And Share Him (SPLASH). Ken Hemphill wrote a book of that name to elaborate on our responsibility.

Of course Jesus shared with His disciples the same two priorities. Showing people love is covered under the Great Commandment, loving God and loving our neighbor. And sharing Him is covered under the Great Commission, proclaiming the gospel everywhere to everyone.

Some of us show love and some of us share Jesus, but how many of us focus on doing both on a regular basis? If we believe the Great Commandment and the Great Commission are important, and evidently Jesus did, then we should be intentional about executing both priorities consistently. If we love Jesus, we will keep His commandments (John 14:15).
