• Living for God and praising Him both bring glory to God. So does being like Jesus. One of my life verses is 1 John 2:6. “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” One of the problems in the church today is that our talk is more robust than our walk. We say the right things but we do not always do the right things. We claim to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ but the claim is not backed up by the way we live our lives.
• The reality is that we will not totally be like Jesus until we see Him face to face (1 John 3:2). We can look forward to glorification when Jesus returns if we know Him as Savior, but in the meantime we are in the process of sanctification, being holy, set apart to God, more like Jesus. And the more like Jesus we become, the more God is glorified. A great goal for each one of us is to know Jesus better and become more like Him, to the glory of God.
• A verse that confirms this concept is 2 Corinthians 3:18. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Beholding Jesus and becoming like Him, through the power of the Holy Spirit and to the glory of God, should be our great desire.
