Day 49: 4/4/26 – Philippians 4:13 “Jesus Rose Again”

Back to 50 Days of Purpose Main Page

Questions

  • What would your life have been like if Jesus had not risen from the dead?
  • How much do you appreciate what Jesus has done and is doing for you?

Scripture

  • Philippians 3:1-11
  • Philippians 3:10-11 “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”

Thoughts

  • On the first Easter Sunday morning, Jesus did the unexpected. He rose again from the dead, which made all the difference in the world. If Jesus had not risen from the dead, then He would not have been able to provide everlasting life to those who believe in Him. If He had not risen from the dead, He would not have been able to meet our needs.
  • In Philippians 4:13 Paul says, “I can do all things through Christ*who strengthens me.” Because He rose again, Jesus can give us the strength we need to meet the challenges of life.
  • In Philippians 1:11 Paul prays the the believers might be “filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” He helps us to do what is righteous.
  • In Colossians 1:27 Pauls talks of “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” In John 15:5 Jesus indicates that without Him we can do nothing, but when we abide in Christ we can bear much fruit to the glory of God. None of this would have been possible without Jesus rising again. According to Philippians 3:10, Paul wanted to know Jesus and the power of His resurrection. Dependence on the risen Christ is imperative. Celebration and praise are appropriate on Easter and all year long.

Action Items

    • Thank God for sending His Son to die for your sins and rise again.
    • Think about how your life is different because of Jesus Christ.
